Big Tuna

Doing this blog makes me realize I need to do a couple things.
1. I need to take notes when I go places because I can't remember for the life of me what went in whose food!
2. Bring the camera EVERYWHERE!

For Kari's 23rd birthday, we took her to Big Tuna. Big Tuna is this tiny Japanese Restaurant next to Kinkos on Mangrove. Here is the location/information:

1722 Mangrove Ave
Ste 18

Chico, CA 95926

I ordered the beef Udon. Out of all the Japanese restaurants in town, Big Tuna, for me, is in the top 2 for BEST BROTH!
I really hope they start making Tempura Udon. I'd go way more often. I recommend sprinkling the pepper flakes over it. You have to request it.  I also ordered a 5 piece salmon sashimi. I don't have a picture because I ate it too fast and I forgot! The salmon sashimi here is truely the best in town. Seriously. I've had it everywhere  else. At Big Tuna, they slice it just the right width, and it's always so fresh! It always tastes a little buttery and melts in your mouth. You should try it.

Armando ordered The Mexican Roll.

Armando is a fan of cilantro and said this roll was "Delicious!"

Kari ordered The Hawaiian Roll.

OMG this one was great! I happen to be a huge fan of Tobiko.

Big Tuna had several dessert options. Kari got some green tea ice cream with a candle in it. Originally she wanted the green tea mochi, but they were all sold out. Come to think of it, they were sold out the time before when Kari and I tried to order it. I suppose you need to plan on an early dinner if you want Mochi at the end.
Armando ordered creme brulee. Weird, right? creme brulee at a Japanese restuarant? Big Tuna has Ginger Creme Brulee!!! I couldn't hide my excitement or astonishment.
This was AH-MAY-ZING! It was served with a raspberry pear ______. Will fill in the blank later. I want to go back just for this.
